Project Summary

King Games is a global leader in the gaming industry, renowned for developing the iconic Candy Crush.

To support a more agile way of working at their head office, King Games partnered with Fluid to implement a flexible furniture rental model. This approach allowed the company to trial different workspace solutions before committing to long term purchases, helping ensure the office environment matched the way their teams actually work.

The strategy delivered a 52% CapEx saving compared to purchasing furniture outright, while giving King Games the flexibility to refine their workspace over time as hybrid working continued to evolve.

Utilising furniture rental to trial workspace reconfiguration

With hybrid working becoming the norm, King Games recognised the need to transform their office into a more dynamic and adaptable environment. Their existing setup no longer reflected the way teams worked, and the company wanted to create a space that balanced collaboration, focused work and flexibility while reducing financial commitment.

Fluid introduced a flexible furniture strategy centred around its rental model, allowing King Games to trial a variety of workspace solutions before making long term decisions.

Following an initial consultation, the project moved quickly. Within just three months, King Games had selected, received and installed their chosen furniture solutions across the office.

A key part of the new workspace was the introduction of environments designed for different working styles. High and low collaboration tables were installed to support teamwork and brainstorming, while private working booths created quieter spaces for focused work.

Open sofa booths encourage informal conversations, while Framery meeting pods and Campers & Dens pods provide soundproof areas for confidential meetings and video calls. Enclosed Torus M single work pods were also introduced to allow employees to work distraction free when needed.

Flexibility remained central to the approach. After 12 months, a full review of the workspace was carried out to assess how teams were using the furniture and identify areas that could be improved.

Furniture that was underutilised was replaced with solutions that better supported the needs of employees. This ensured the office environment could continue evolving based on real usage rather than fixed assumptions made during the initial design stage.

Feedback from employees has been overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the ability to choose the right workspace for their tasks as a key benefit.

Rebecca Redding, Workplace Manager at King Games, explained:

“Fluid’s rental model gave us the flexibility to trial different solutions, adjust as needed, and avoid unnecessary costs. The results speak for themselves. Our employees are engaged, and our office is a space that truly supports the way we work.”

Today, the workspace continues to support productivity, collaboration and flexibility while maintaining strong cost efficiency.
