The Project
Coverys, a leading provider of medical professional liability insurance, was relocating to a new London office and needed to create a dynamic, functional space that would support their collaborative work style. A key requirement was to introduce new meeting spaces—but traditional construction methods presented a range of challenges. Waiting for landlord approval and Building Control sign-off, coupled with the need to adapt fire and safety systems such as sprinklers, would be both time-consuming and costly. Additionally, the disruption caused by conventional building work was not a viable option for Coverys' busy team.
To overcome these challenges, we proposed a flexible solution using Campers & Dens meeting pods by Orangebox. These innovative pods feature a patented opening roof system, allowing them to be installed without altering the building’s existing sprinkler system. This significantly reduced both project costs and timelines, while also ensuring compliance with fire regulations. The pods provided private, acoustically controlled spaces ideal for focused meetings, without the need for permanent structural changes.
To complement the formal meeting areas, we also introduced a selection of comfortable breakout and lounge furniture. These areas were designed to provide informal meeting zones for staff, visitors, and guests, encouraging a relaxed atmosphere and fostering spontaneous collaboration. The soft furnishings brought warmth and comfort to the office environment, contributing to an inviting and productive workspace.
To enhance the sense of flow and function throughout the office, we also incorporated mobile planter units. These served a dual purpose: helping to define different zones within the open-plan space and introducing a welcome element of biophilia. The greenery added life and energy to the office, promoting wellbeing and offering a natural way to soften the aesthetic of the space.
Through smart product choices and creative spatial planning, we helped Coverys transform their new office into a versatile, modern environment that supports both focused work and casual collaboration—without the delays and costs of traditional construction.
