CASE STUDY Casio The new workspace brings Casio’s teams together on one floor while introducing flexible environments that support hybrid working and encourage collaboration across the business. CLIENT TYPE Occupier SIZE 10,500 sq/ft LOCATION Wembley, HA9 SCOPE Furniture Consultancy Furniture Procurement CHALLENGE Three floors into one Casio had been looking to consolidate their Wembley-based headquarters from three floors into one in order to improve communication and collaboration across the organisation. This became even more important as hybrid working became part of everyday operations following the COVID-19 pandemic. Relocating to the newly developed Hive Building provided an opportunity to rethink how the workspace should function and create an environment that better reflected the way employees now worked. OUR APPROACH Settings in place of rows of desks Working alongside fit-out partner Zentura, Fluid developed a furniture strategy that moved away from traditional rows of desks and instead introduced a variety of workplace settings that encourage movement and interaction across the office. Furniture was carefully selected to ensure the workspace could adapt if requirements changed in the future. Particular consideration was given to minimising construction work due to the complex mechanical infrastructure within the building. Air 3 and Campers & Dens office pods were introduced to provide meeting spaces within the open-plan office. These freestanding pods allow private meetings without the need for permanent structural changes and can easily be relocated if the office layout evolves. Traditional radial workstations were replaced with electric sit-stand desks used as hot desks, encouraging movement and supporting employee wellbeing. Additional hot-desking furniture was also introduced to provide employees with a variety of places to work rather than remaining at a single desk throughout the day. THE RESULT One connected headquarters One of the most popular spaces within the office is the tea point breakout area. Flexible breakout furniture allows the space to be reconfigured into a demonstration environment where Casio can showcase their range of pianos and keyboards. This area has quickly become a central hub where employees gather for informal meetings, conversations and everyday interaction. The completed workspace now provides Casio with a modern office environment that supports collaboration, flexibility and team connection within a single unified workspace. CASE STUDY Battenhall Battenhall took an extra adjoining unit at Workspace Group's Exmouth House and as it was a short term lease they decided to rent the furniture. Fluid curated a full design scheme across the unit, including soft seating, meeting furniture, breakout and collaborative areas and acoustic booths for privacy. CLIENT TYPE Occupier SIZE 4,700 sq/ft LOCATION London, EC1 SCOPE Furniture Rental CHALLENGE Growth on a short-term lease Battenhall acquired an additional unit at Workspace Group's Exmouth House to support its growing team and provide additional workspace capacity. As the new space was secured on a short-term lease, the business wanted to avoid the significant upfront cost and long-term commitment associated with purchasing furniture outright. At the same time, the workplace still needed to deliver the same quality, functionality and employee experience as a permanent office. OUR APPROACH A curated rental scheme Fluid was appointed to provide a complete furniture rental solution for the 4,700 sq ft workspace, developing a carefully curated scheme that balanced collaboration, privacy and flexibility. The new environment includes a variety of settings designed to support different ways of working, including soft seating areas, meeting spaces, collaborative zones and acoustic booths for focused work and confidential conversations. THE RESULT A fully furnished, flexible workplace By choosing furniture rental, Battenhall was able to create a fully operational and high-quality workplace while retaining the flexibility to adapt its requirements as the lease evolved. Height-adjustable executive desks were introduced within the cellular offices, offering greater flexibility and encouraging healthier working habits.
