Fluid worked alongside design firm Sam Kopsch Studio and fit-out partner Oktra to redesign Frontier Economics’ London office, transforming the workspace into a flexible hybrid environment designed to support collaboration and evolving ways of working. The project converted a 27,500 sq ft office into an agile workspace that can easily adapt to future needs while minimising construction investment ahead of potential relocation plans.relocates. Creating a flexible workspace that can evolve easily Frontier Economics had originally planned to relocate from their office at MidCity Place in Holborn. When the COVID-19 pandemic changed working patterns across the organisation, those plans were paused. Instead, the company chose to redesign their existing workspace as a pilot scheme to explore how their workforce would respond to a hybrid workplace while creating a more collaborative office environment. Working closely with Frontier Economics and design firm Sam Kopsch Studio, the decision was made to minimise permanent construction due to the possibility of future relocation. Investment was therefore focused on furniture solutions that could be easily reconfigured and potentially relocated to a future office. Design workshops were carried out with the entire company so employees could contribute to how the new workspace would function. The insights gathered from these sessions helped shape the final design concept. The result was an agile workspace that offers multiple environments for different types of work, allowing employees to move throughout the office depending on their tasks rather than remaining at a single desk. A bookable workspace model was introduced where desks and meeting resources are reserved through a workplace app instead of being permanently assigned. Meeting rooms were created using office pods rather than permanent construction. These pods were equipped with advanced AV technology to support both in-person and virtual meetings. This approach reduced mechanical construction costs and helped minimise potential dilapidation costs should the company relocate in the future. At the centre of the workspace is a large kitchen and breakout area designed as a collaborative hub for the office. The space includes a variety of seating styles that can accommodate company events, informal meetings or quiet working. Across the open-plan office, zoning furniture was used to define different working environments while maintaining an open and flexible layout. Height-adjustable desks and poseur-height collaboration workbenches were installed throughout the workspace, all equipped with integrated power so employees can move around the office depending on the activities they are carrying out. Smart lockers were also introduced to support the flexible workspace model. These lockers are accessed using staff entry cards and can be allocated on a daily basis. The lockers also provide valuable data on workspace usage, helping management understand how often the office is being used and informing future real estate decisions. Despite global material shortages during the project, which required some finish selections to be adjusted during procurement, the completed workspace has been extremely well received by employees. Following an initial collaboration to explore workplace improvements at their previous office, Fluid was appointed to support SEGA’s move to their new London headquarters at Chiswick Park. The project combined furniture consultancy, real-world product trials, procurement and relocation support to help SEGA develop a workspace strategy that supports hybrid collaboration. By trialling meeting pods in their existing office before relocation, SEGA was able to confidently invest in solutions that enhance focus, privacy and collaboration within their new headquarters. Trialling workspace solutions before delivering a new HQ As SEGA prepared to relocate their UK headquarters to Chiswick Park, the organisation wanted to modernise its workplace strategy and create a more dynamic environment for its teams. A key requirement was the introduction of private meeting and focus spaces that would complement an open-plan office while supporting hybrid collaboration. SEGA’s existing workspace lacked sufficient private meeting areas, which made collaboration and focused work more challenging as the organisation adopted more hybrid working patterns. Rather than committing immediately to a fixed solution, SEGA wanted to explore the best way to integrate acoustic meeting pods into their workplace. Fluid began by providing a consultative service, working closely with SEGA’s internal project team to understand spatial requirements, design aspirations and employee feedback. Based on this research, a curated shortlist of meeting pod options was developed, considering factors such as acoustics, ventilation, technology integration and visual design. To help SEGA make an informed decision, we introduced our FluidSpace Flex rental service, allowing the organisation to trial meeting pods within their existing workspace before committing to a long-term investment. A selection of Hush meeting pods was installed in SEGA’s office, enabling teams to experience the spaces in real working conditions. The trial proved highly successful. Employees were able to experience the benefits of improved privacy, focus and comfort, while the organisation gathered valuable feedback on which pod configurations worked best. This real-world testing gave SEGA the confidence to proceed with a wider deployment of meeting pods as part of their relocation to Chiswick Park. When the time came to move, Fluid supported the relocation of the rented pods and supplied additional units for the new headquarters. The final workspace included a mix of single-occupancy pods for calls and focused work alongside larger collaborative pods designed for group meetings and hybrid conferencing. Our team managed the logistics of relocating the pods and installing new units, coordinating closely with the wider fit-out team to ensure a smooth transition into the new office. The pods were selected to align with SEGA’s brand identity and contribute to a vibrant workspace that supports a range of working styles. The completed headquarters now provides SEGA with a modern and agile workplace where teams can collaborate, focus and connect more effectively. Fluid worked alongside fit-out partner Zentura to furnish the refurbishment of MTI’s office, transforming a workspace that had not been updated for over a decade into a modern and welcoming environment. The project introduced new loose and fitted furniture across the 5,500 sq ft office, creating a workspace that improves comfort, functionality and overall workplace experience for employees and visitors. Refreshing a decade-old workspace with modern furniture MTI’s building had become increasingly tired after more than ten years without refurbishment. The organisation wanted to revitalise the workspace and create an office environment that better reflected the creativity and professionalism of their business. Working alongside Zentura, Fluid delivered a full furniture consultancy and procurement package for the project, supplying both loose and fitted furniture across the building. Within the open-plan workspace, new office desks and task chairs were installed to provide improved comfort and functionality for employees. Height-adjustable executive desks were introduced within the cellular offices, offering greater flexibility and encouraging healthier working habits. Breakout furniture and soft furnishings were incorporated throughout the office to create informal spaces where employees can collaborate, relax or step away from their desks. We used our Fluid Ready model to provide a fully furnished and dressed workspace that has now been successfully let to an incoming tenant. Following the success of our previous collaborations in Dublin and London, Fluid was appointed once again to support the fit out of Frontier Economics’ new London headquarters. The project required a carefully coordinated furniture strategy that could support a high performing workplace while ensuring a smooth transition into the new office. Fluid delivered a complete furniture consultancy, procurement and move management service across the 26,000 sq ft workspace, combining new furniture with the reuse of selected items from Frontier Economics’ previous offices to maximise value and reduce unnecessary waste. Balancing workplace performance with furniture re-use Fluid was appointed to provide the full furniture consultancy, procurement and move management package for Frontier Economics’ new headquarters in central London. Building on our strong relationship from previous projects, we collaborated closely with Perkins & Will, Gardiner & Theobald and Overbury to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery across all phases of the project. Our scope included a full furniture design package aligned with the overall aesthetic, comprehensive product selection and consultancy, and end-to-end coordination of all furniture logistics. Key features of the new workspace include height-adjustable desks and ergonomic task seating designed to support employee comfort and long term wellbeing. Bespoke acoustic pods were also introduced and designed to integrate seamlessly with the new partitioning system, creating private spaces for focused work and confidential conversations within the open plan environment. Collaborative and breakout furniture was introduced across the workspace to support informal interaction and flexible working styles, helping teams move easily between focused work and group discussion throughout the day. One of the standout areas within the new headquarters is the 8th floor Sky Lounge. Fluid furnished the space with carefully selected pieces to complement its panoramic views across London, creating a destination space for informal meetings and team gatherings. The rooftop terrace was also fitted with robust and stylish outdoor furniture, extending the usable workspace and offering employees an outdoor setting for collaboration and relaxation. Meeting spaces were fitted with a mix of new and repurposed elements, including custom joinery and unique flip top tables with integrated battery power from Workbench. Items from Frontier Economics’ previous offices were also reused within the new workspace. These pieces were reupholstered and vinyl wrapped to fit the new scheme, helping maximise the value of existing furniture assets while reducing the need for unnecessary replacement. Fluid also managed the relocation of all existing furniture and IT equipment, coordinating a phased move strategy to meet tight timelines while working within the constraints of an active construction site. Furniture was sourced from a curated selection of premium manufacturers including Kinnarps, Humanscale, Konig & Neurath, Orangebox, Frovi, ORN, Icons of Denmark, Kartell, Norr11, Muuto, Workbench and Sixteen3 to ensure the finished workspace balances durability, performance and design quality. The completed workspace highlights refined finishes, strong spatial flow, biophilic elements and an intelligent use of space to create both private and collaborative zones within the open plan environment. The project reimagined the company’s existing building as an agile environment designed to support collaboration, showcase the consultancy’s capabilities and host innovative client presentations. A standout feature of the 11,000 sq ft workspace is a ground-breaking XR lab designed for immersive hybrid presentations and demonstrations. Transforming a traditional office into a hybrid innovation space MI-GSO | PCUBED wanted to refresh their Aldgate office following a shift in working styles across the business. Their existing workspace was largely centred around individual desk-based working and no longer reflected how their teams collaborated or interacted with clients. Working alongside refurbishment partner Zentura, Fluid developed a furniture strategy designed to support hybrid working while creating a workspace that demonstrates the consultancy’s innovative approach to project delivery. The office spans multiple floors, with each area designed to support different types of work. Agile zones were introduced across the workspace to allow teams to move between collaboration, meetings and focused work throughout the day. Furniture solutions were carefully selected to allow spaces to be easily reconfigured depending on the needs of the teams using them. One of the most distinctive features of the project is the dedicated XR Lab, designed for immersive hybrid presentations. Furniture within this space was chosen specifically for flexibility so that the layout can be quickly adapted for different presentation formats and demonstrations. Traditional desk layouts were replaced with electric sit-stand desks used as hot desks, encouraging movement and supporting employee wellbeing. Collaborative hot-desking furniture was also introduced to provide a range of places where employees can work throughout the day rather than remaining tied to a single desk. Multiple breakout areas were created using zoning furniture instead of fixed partitions. This approach allows the office layout to remain open and adaptable while still defining different working environments. Planting and biophilic elements were integrated into these zones, bringing warmth and colour into the workspace and creating a more welcoming atmosphere for employees and visitors. Meeting rooms were fitted with bespoke tables designed in coordination with the AV system to support the advanced technology used throughout the workspace. The completed office now provides MI-GSO | PCUBED with a highly adaptable workplace that supports hybrid working, collaboration and client engagement. As part of their relocation to a new London office, Coverys needed a workspace that could support collaboration while remaining flexible and welcoming for staff and visitors. Fluid helped deliver a practical and efficient solution by introducing freestanding meeting pods, breakout furniture and lounge areas across the 5,860 sq ft workspace. By avoiding traditional construction methods, the project delivered new meeting environments quickly while minimising disruption and unnecessary costs. Delivering private meeting space without structural changes Coverys, a leading provider of medical professional liability insurance, was relocating to a new London office and required a workspace that could support a collaborative working culture. A key requirement was to introduce additional meeting spaces. However, traditional construction methods presented several challenges. Waiting for landlord approval and Building Control sign off, alongside the need to adapt fire safety systems such as sprinklers, would have added significant time and cost to the project. The disruption associated with building work was also not a viable option for Coverys’ busy team. To overcome these challenges, Fluid proposed a flexible solution using Campers & Dens meeting pods by Orangebox. These freestanding pods feature a patented opening roof system that allows them to be installed without altering the building’s existing sprinkler system. This enabled the project to move forward without the delays typically associated with permanent construction while maintaining compliance with fire safety regulations. The pods provided private, acoustically controlled spaces designed for focused meetings and conversations, allowing Coverys to introduce dedicated meeting environments without structural changes to the building. To complement the formal meeting spaces, Fluid introduced a range of breakout and lounge furniture across the office. These areas were designed to support informal meetings between colleagues as well as conversations with visitors and guests, helping create a more relaxed and welcoming working environment. The soft seating and lounge areas add warmth and comfort to the workspace while encouraging spontaneous collaboration throughout the office. Mobile planter units were also incorporated to improve the flow and organisation of the open-plan space. These movable elements help define different zones across the workplace while introducing natural greenery that softens the environment and supports employee wellbeing. Through carefully selected furniture and flexible spatial planning, Fluid helped Coverys create a modern workspace that supports collaboration, focused work and informal interaction without the disruption or cost associated with traditional construction. Fluid worked alongside design and build partner Zentura to refurbish Red Consultancy’s Soho offices, delivering a furniture consultancy and procurement package designed to create a more collaborative and engaging workspace. The redesigned office consolidates operations from three floors into two while introducing flexible collaboration spaces that encourage employees to spend more time in the office. Transforming a dated space into a collaborative office Red Consultancy’s London office is located within a renovated boxing gym in the heart of Soho. The company wanted to refresh the workspace to better support collaboration while also encouraging their teams to return to the office. At the same time, the redesign needed to consolidate the office footprint from three floors to two without compromising the quality of the workplace environment. Working alongside Zentura, Fluid delivered the furniture consultancy and procurement package for the project. To maximise the available budget, many of the existing furniture pieces were retained and integrated into the new design wherever possible. Additional breakout furniture and collaboration tables were introduced to create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere throughout the office. The redesigned workspace focuses on providing a variety of areas for both collaboration and informal interaction, encouraging employees to move around the office rather than remain in one place throughout the day. One of the most distinctive features of the office is the staff lounge and bar area. This vibrant space combines comfortable furniture with an abundance of biophilia to create a relaxing environment within the busy workplace. The lounge has quickly become a social hub for the team, supporting informal meetings, collaboration and everyday interactions between colleagues. We supplied a mixture of freestanding office pods on both a rental and procurement basis to suit their requirements and provide flexible spaces for their teams to meet, focus and take private calls. At its headquarters at 20 Cavendish Square in London, RCN required additional meeting and private working spaces within its Grade II listed building. Traditional construction methods proved prohibitively expensive and would have required numerous permissions and approvals. Fluid introduced a combination of freestanding office pods on both a rental and procurement basis, providing flexible environments for meetings, focused work and confidential calls without the disruption or complexity of permanent building works. The result is a more adaptable workplace that supports a variety of working styles while preserving the flexibility of the existing building. Delivered additional meeting and focus spaces within a Grade II listed building without the cost or complexity of traditional construction The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) required additional meeting and private working spaces within its headquarters at 20 Cavendish Square in London. As the building is Grade II listed, traditional construction methods presented significant challenges. Building new meeting rooms would have involved considerable cost, lengthy programmes and multiple permissions and approvals, making permanent alterations an impractical solution. To overcome these challenges, Fluid proposed a combination of freestanding office pods provided through both rental and procurement models, allowing RCN to introduce enclosed spaces quickly while maintaining flexibility for the future. The pods created a variety of environments to support meetings, focused work and confidential telephone conversations, helping employees access private spaces without compromising the openness of the wider workplace. By avoiding permanent construction, RCN was able to increase the functionality of its workplace while preserving the integrity of the existing building and retaining the ability to adapt the layout as requirements evolve. The completed solution demonstrates how flexible workspace products can help organisations overcome complex building constraints while creating practical environments that better support the needs of modern teams. Cleo Cleo moved into a new office, as part of the design they asked Fluid to provide all their new pods as we had previously supplied them in their previous office. We supplied and installed all the new HushFree pods on a lease finance basis to help preserve project budget, installing on a live site in conjunction with their main contractor. This helped free up budget to ensure the main office design was maintained.
