The Project
Casio had been looking to consolidate their Wembley-based HQ from 3 floors to 1 floor to enable more effective communication and collaboration across their workforce, even more important given the hybrid way of working they had adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic. When they decided to relocate to the brand new Hive Building just outside Wembley Stadium, it provided the perfect opportunity to design a workspace that supported their new working habits and promoted collaborative ways of working.
Working alongside fit-out partners Zentura, we specified a furniture package that moved away from the traditional rows of desking and instead provided numerous different workplace settings that encouraged people to move around the office which would in turn promote collaboration between the various teams on the floor.
Emphasis was put on furniture that could be easily reconfigured should future requirements change, with particular consideration given to creating spaces that minimised the build costs given the complex mechanical infrastructure in the building. The Air 3 and Campers & Dens office pods were selected to provide meeting spaces in the open plan area, with the benefit that they can easily be relocated without mechanical reconfiguration should the need arise.
All the office desking was upgraded from traditional radial workstations to electric sit-stand desking to promote wellbeing and encourage the staff to be active while in the office. A range of hot desking furniture was also specified to give staff different areas to work, rather than stay tethered to a desk all day.
In what turns out to be the most popular area within the space, we provided a range of flexible breakout furniture in the tea point area which can also be reconfigured into a demonstration space to showcase the amazing Casio range of pianos and keyboards. This agile and flexible space has quickly become a communal hub where people gather to get a coffee, eat lunch and hold informal meetings.
The project was an incredible success, with a very satisfied client and a showcase office space that Casio can rightly be very proud of!
